Legendary Journalist Liliane Pierre-Paul on Monday corrected the record on arguments put forward by advisors to President Jovenel Moise who wish him to continue to cling to power.

In the press, television, radio and on social media in recent weeks, the advisors and some few members of civil society still sympathetic to President Jovenel Moise and the regime in power have argued that the Head of State has a five-year term and should serve out his five-year term.

Regardless of the situation, these individuals have pointed to the article of the Constitution that defines terms. Madame Pierre-Paul, who listed some of the dozens of articles of the Constitution that the president had not respected, then gave a littany of examples to show and prove that the mandate of a head of state is not unconditional.
