Senators of the opposition have sent a letter, on Monday, to Senate President Carl Murat Cantave (AAA - Artibonite) to demand certain requirements that will allow for the return to a functioning Grand Body.

1. The senators demand a conference of presidents to address matters within the interior regulations of the senate and others that hinder the proper functioning of the institution.

2. The senators demand investigations be opened into the corruption scandals involving some members, particularly the incident where it is alleged Prime Minister-designate Fritz William Michel would have paid $100,000 [USD] each to five senators for their ratification votes.

3. The obtaining of records, such as the Petrocaribe Utilization Report and the Dermalog case, both major files alleged to include money laundering and embezzlement.

The signatories to the letter were Senators Nenel Cassy (Fanmi Lavalas - Nippes), Sorel Jacinthe (Inite - Grand'Anse) and Youri Latortue (AAA - Artibonite).
