Whereas in the Chamber of Deputies opposition lawmakers were threatened with firearms by the presidential majority into not participating in the ratification proceeding of Prime Minister-designate Fritz William Michel, in the Senate, the presidential majority is seeking to not hold a hearing all together.

Senator Dieupie Cherubin (KID - Sud'Est) called on the embattled President of the Republic Jovenel Moise to install his prime minister-designate without debate or vote in the Senate.

Senator Cherubin says his proposal is shared by 17 senators, which would consitute a simple majority. Mr. Cherubin said these 17 soon will be signatories to a letter to be drafted and sent to the president to ask him to bypass their power in the State to install a government.

Although it would set a terrible precendent, former Deputy and Government Commissioner Jean Danton Leger heard of the notion proposed by Cherubin urged President Moise to take the proposed action because it would precipitate his ouster from power.
