Senate Meeting to Ratify New PM Descends into Violence

For a second time, the prime minister-designate Jean-Michel Lapin failed to present his policy statement in the Senate of the Republic.

A misunderstanding between senators about the executive's decision to introduce the government with 14 ministers while the presidential decree mentions the existence of 18 ministries. The meeting, after seven hours of debate, turned into violence between fellow senators.
