Taiwanese to Donate, Install 17 Solar Powered Water Systems



The outgoing-Minister of the Environment signed a contract with Taiwanese company Speedtech Energy Co. for the "Donation of Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Solar Photovoltaic Pumping Systems," 17 of which.

The solar nature of the pumps will contribute to the protection of the environment, the minister said. He also added that agriculture will be boosted by ensuring the fertility of the lands, vegetable production and reducing the risk caused by droughts. The pumps will be installed in the Artibonite, Ouest, Nord, Nord'East and Sud departments.

In addition to the outgoing-Minister of the Environment, Mr. Joseph Jouthe, the outgoing-Minister of Agriculture, Joubert C. Angrand and representatives from the National Palace were present. Executives of SpeedTech Energy were accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Haiti, Mr. Bang-Zuh LIU.
