Sitting Parliamentarian and Driver Shot and Injured in Downtown P-au-P

Deputy Ronald Étienne (CNPPH - Pestel) was shot during an armed attack and his driver, took several bullets and is in critical condition at a hospital.

The attack by unknown gunmen occurred Sunday in downtown Port-au-Prince, on Bicentennaire, not far from the Palace of Justice, the State Electricity building and many other government institutions.

The parliamentarian, who was shot, and is out of danger. His driver, suffering from several projectiles, would be in critical condition.

The attack is not believed to be targeted and is not being taken beyond, what has become the climate in Haiti in the past year, that of gang violence and insecurity.
