The opposition announced the continuation of mobilizations through the week leading up to a massive rendezvous on Friday, October 11, 2019, in front of President Jovenel Moise's private residence where the Head of State will have 2 hours to hand over his resignation.

The press conference held Tuesday at Hotel Oloffson in Port-au-Prince had the presence of several current and former Senators and Deputies of the Republic.

Senator Nenel Cassy (Fanmi Lavalas - Nippes) said mobilizations will continue without break until the claims of citizens are satisfied. The resignation of President Jovenel Moise and prosecution of persons involved in the misappropriation of billions of dollars from the Petrocaribe fund are their demands.

To these ends, Senator Antonio Cheramy (Verite - Ouest) encouraged protesters to maintain the barricades that paralyze economic activities, however, he emphasized provisions for emergency vehicles to travel freely be made.

Senator Evaliere Beauplan (PONT - Nord'Ouest) said the protest on Friday would take citizens to the doorstep of President Jovenel Moïse's private residence in Pelerin. There the Head of State will have 2 hours to give his resignation or the general public may feel forced to express to him their displeasure.
