VIDEO Clifford Dumé Becomes 3rd Champion of Podium Quartier

A young man named Clifford Dumé has become the 3rd winner of the nationally syndicated signing competition Podium Quartier.

The courtyard of the crowded Marriott Hotel where the finale was held crowned Dumé the winner who is no stranger to victories. In 2013, he won first place at Soleil d'été; last year he passed close to that of the Podium Schoolboy. "Music," he says, "has always been in me. I was 6 when I realized it and that's what motivated me to go to these competitions."

Hailing from the city of Croix-des-Bouquets, Dumé recognized that the contest experience this year was marked by the crisis that has affected the country for three months. "We had to listen to the news all the time before going out. There were always stories of kawoutchou, barikad. Shots were heard in many streets. I had to avoid the Carrefour Marassa, I transited rather via Lizon," he said of his trips to make it to the competition.
