'Mur méditerranée' among Favorites for the Prix Goncourt 2019

Author Louis-Philippe Dalembert's title 'Mur méditerranée' was selected as a favorite by the Goncourt judges for 2019. This puts the title, about two African refugees, among 15 others that could win the Goncourt Prize this year.

Dalembert is best known for titles such as, The pencil of God has no eraser (Le Crayon du bon Dieu n'a pas de gomme), The Other face of the sea (L'Autre face de la mer) and The Gods Travel at Night (Les dieux voyagent la nuit).

On November 4, the president of the judges, Bernard Pivot, will announce the final winner of the Goncourt Prize. Two other selections, winding down the finalists of the 16 titles, would have taken place by this time.

The Goncourt Prize, known better as the Prix Goncourt, is a prize in French literature, given by the académie Goncourt to the author of "the best and most imaginative prose work of the year".
