Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissier named Goodwill Ambassador

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) – Miss Haiti 2016, the runner-up for Miss Universe 2017, Raquel Pelissier, was received by the Haitian government during her first visit back to the country since the Miss Universe pageant that was held in the Philippines. During her visit, she was received at the National Palace by President Jovenel Moise who bestowed upon her the title of Goodwill Ambassador for Haiti.

Madame Pelissier was greeted by a delegation of government officials, collaborators, students and other guests at the Diplomatic Room at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince.

After being welcomed by the Minister of Culture and Communication, Marc Aurèle GARCIA, the Chancellery of Haiti, HE Pierrot Délienne, and the Director General of Communication, Necaire Gregoire, Raquel Pelissier, was received by the President of the Republic at the National Palace.

The Ministry of Culture and Communication issued a statement of congratulations to Miss Pélissier and welcomed “the courage and determination of all those who have contributed to the achievement of the distinguished honor which honors Haiti as a whole.”
