Venezuela Congratulates Haiti on 213th Year of Independence

CARACAS, Venezuela (sentinel.ht) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, on Sunday, “congratulated the Government and brotherly people of the Republic of Haiti, commemorating 213 years of their independence, a historic event of great importance for Our America, by becoming the first free nation Of that 1 of January of 1804.”

While speaking to the history of the birth of Venezuela and “all nations of Latin America and the Caribbean” in Haiti, President Maduro said his country would “continue to honor our commitment of solidarity and gratitude that unites us with Haiti and its great struggles of resistance.”

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, congratulates the Government and brotherly people of the Republic of Haiti, commemorating 213 years of their independence, a historic event of great importance for Our America, by becoming the first free nation Of that 1 of January of 1804.

Our republican history began to be written in Haiti, transformed into a beacon of freedom for all Nations of Latin America and the Caribbean. It was in Haiti that the Liberator Simón Bolívar found the support and support in the most difficult moments for the emancipatory gesture of the Great Homeland.

With Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez, we say: “I have inscribed in my soul the heroic and suffering Haitian people with their infinite love and their great hope … by Petion and Bolivar we have to pay a historical debt to the people of Haiti.”

With 213 years of this heroic deed, we reaffirm our determination to continue honoring our commitment of solidarity and gratitude that unites us with Haiti and its great struggles of resistance.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates to the people of Haiti its firm will to build a more integrated, fair and united Caribbean by strengthening Petrocaribe and ALBA-TCP, and continue to walk the roads together for our American victory and independence.
