Haiti welcomes election of President-elect Trump

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) – In a statement released by the National Palace Wednesday morning, the President of the Republican, on behalf of the Haitian government and the people welcomed the election of Donald John Trump as President of the United States.

President Jocelerme Privert said in his conveyance of his warmest congratulations, he is wishing Trump success and will be committed to maintaining and consolidating good relations between Haiti and the United States.

In the morning of Wednesday, November 9, 2016, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Jocelerme Privert, conveyed his warmest congratulations to the new President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald John Trump, of the US presidential election, on the night of November 8-9, 2016.

The Head of State took the opportunity to express his wishes of success to the new President-elect of the United States, when taking up his new duties.

On behalf of the Government and people of Haiti, President Privert reaffirms his commitment to maintaining and consolidating good relations between the two countries.

The President of the Republic strongly hopes that the bilateral cooperation between the two Republics of the United States of America and Haiti will continue and be strengthened.
