PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) – On Monday and Thursday, Haiti received two new ambassadors, Manfred Auster of Germany and Daniel Saban of Israel, respectively.
The ceremony to accept the appointment letter from the German ambassador was held in the presence of the Haitian Chancellor, Pierrot Delienne and the Chief of Protocol of the National Palace, Erick Perrault. Before being appointed to this position in summer 2016, Auster was alternately Head of Economic Section has the German Embassy in Ottawa (2010-2012) and Deputy Head of Mission of the EU delegation European at this same embassy (2012-2016).
Because Haiti was among the 33 countries that voted on November 29, 1947, during the General Assembly of United Nations for a resolution (181) in favor of the creation of the State of Israel a ceremony including National Band was held for the ceremony receiving the Israeli appointment letter.
The new Israeli Ambassador promised, in the presence of the representative of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Daphne Benoit Delsoin, that he would be working to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Haiti and Israel. Saban also reiterated the commitment of his country to support the Haitian government in its efforts to improve living conditions the Haitian population.
