Hurricane Matthew shifts, Haiti raises alert to Orange

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) – Haiti has raised its storm warning for southwest Haiti to a fullon hurricane warning for the entire island less the North-East department.

The alert level has been raised to Orange as Hurricane Matthew, a Category 4 storm, has shifted projections eastward.

The storm should be on the level of Haiti by early afternoon Monday. The Haitian National Meteorological Center (CNM) is warning of intense gale force winds, heavy rains, severe flooding, mudslides and lightning.
