Mireya Luis met with President Privert at National Palace

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) – On Monday, before her departure for Cuba, Mireya Luis Hernandez, the all-time great volleyball player, met with The President of the Republic, Jocelerme Privert, at the National Palace.

It was Mrs. Luiz’s first visit to Haiti and she was accompanied by her husband Humberto Rodriguez, the ambassador of Cuba in Haiti, Luiz Castillo Campos and the president of the Women’s Federation Haitian Volleyball, Mrs. Magareth C. Graham.

Mireya Luiz was born in the town of Les Cayes and has a rich list of accomplishments as part of the Cuban National Women’s Volleyball tea.

She has three Olympic Gold Medals (1992, 1996 and 2000), she is a two-time world champion (1994, 1998), and was Vice-Champion of the world in 1986 titles, with 4 World Cup , and countless individual honors such as best player.
