Communion Celebration of Our Lady of the Nativity in Petit-Trou

PETIT-TROU, Nippes, HT (sentinel.ht) – The communion celebration of Our Lady of the Nativity in Petit-Trou de Nippes was held Thursday in the presence of many of the State’s dignitaries.

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Jocelerme Privert, was accompanied by the First Lady, Dr. Ginette Michaud Privert. Privert had served as the Senator of the Nippes before becoming interim president.

The religious ceremony was attended by numerous personalities, including members of the offices of the head of state and government, parliamentarians and local authorities such as the mayor of the city, Mr. Pierre Wilnord.

In his homily for the occasion, the main celebrant, Bishop Pierre-André Dumas called pilgrims and pilgrims to unity and reconciliation in order to celebrate in peace and joy. The prelate also put the emphasis on the historic significance of this town that has seen grow the current President of the Republic. He also hailed the Head of State’s efforts to give a very special sparkle to this feast day.

In his short address, President Privert has welcomed many visitors and happy birthday to Trounippois and Trounippoises. On the sidelines of the ceremony, President Privert received a plaque of honor from the Trounippois in order to express their gratitude and pride the one who contributed to the construction of the City.

After the ceremony, the President of the Republic visited the library Dany Laferrière Petit-Trou de Nippes, where he was welcomed by the Director of the institution, Mr. Benoit Clement II. The latter took the opportunity to hand him a plaque of honor while welcoming its commitment to the community.

Then the National Palace tenant conducted a door-to-door, traveling on foot several city streets, waving citizens, young and old friends, before returning to his private residence where he continued to receive guests and visitors.
