Brazil Impeaches President Dilma Rousseff

BRASÍLIA, Brazil (sentinel.ht) — The Brazilian Senate on Wednesday voted to impeach Dilma Rousseff, the country’s first female president, and removed her from office, ending her term as president.

The vote in the Senate was 61 to 20 to convict her of maniplating the federal budget in an effort to conceal the nation’s mounting economic problems.

According to the New York Times, the final removal was much more than a judgment of guilt on any charge as it was a verdict on her leadership of Latin American’s largest country. Read more
