Haiti, Venezuela Officials discuss Pétion-Bolivar Center, Jacmel

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Ouest, HT (sentinel.ht) – The Haitian Culture Minister and Venezuelan Ambassador met on Thursday to discuss the creation of a cultural center dedicated to the hispanic revolutionary, Simon Bolivar, and mulatto Haitian President, Alexandre Pétion, who freed South American from colonial rule.

The Minister of Culture and Communication, Marcus Aurelius Garcia, assisted by his Cabinet Director, Edwin Gob and the Director General of that Ministry, Jean Michel Lapin, met with the Ambassador of Venezuela in Haiti, Pedro Antonio Canino Gonzalez, in his offices on August 18, 2016.

The official discussion topic is: “Creating Projects Pétion-Bolivar Cultural Centre in Jacmel, and the renovation of the Bolivar house where the South American Liberator had stayed during his stay in this city, where he created the flag of the Republic of Venezuela.”
