NEW YORK, New York, USA (sentinel.ht) – In January, the FBI had requested but was denied by the Obama Justice Department the opening of a public corruption investigation into the Clinton Foundation. With alleged crimes spanning fraud, money laundering, bribery and racketeering, the pursuit of justice multiplied as a hydra, with the FBI, now, participating in three criminal probes into the foundation; U.S. Attorneys are at the helm.
The Daily Caller was first to break the news of the FBI’s “major departure” from a centralized investigation. It reported that rather than getting prosecutorial support from Attorney General Loretta Lynch, whose meeting with former President Bill Clinton in early July proved a blatant demonstration of improprieties at the department, it will get this support from U.S. Attorneys in Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., and New York City, New York.
The FBI has not confirmed publicly that an investigation into the Clinton Foundation was ongoing. Director James Comey chose to neither confirm nor disavow the existence of the investigation in July during a House Ethics Committee hearing. There is a criminal investigation into long-time Clinton ally, Virginia Governor, Terry McCauliffe, currently open and this investigation involves the Clinton Foundation. AG Loretta Lynch’s department did allow this investigation to continue but explicitly made it to not to include scrutiny on the Clintons’ foundation.
