BRADENTON, Florida, USA (sentinel.ht) – Haiti finalized its roster for the Centennial Copa America tournament, on Wednesday, with big names, Duckens Nazon, Jean-Eudes Maurice, Wilde-Donald Guerrier and world-class goalie, Johnny Placide, on the list.
The late roster gives the Haitian team a three-week later start than its toughest group stage opponent, Brazil, which set its roster at the beginning of the month. The team left Port-au-Prince on May 18 and began training in Bradenton, Florida.
Despite being the longshot of Group B, Sports Illustrated recognized the “upstart” Haitian team is capable of surprising football fans and getting out of the group stage as it did in the Gold Cup in 2015.
Haiti will open up against Peru in Seattle, Washington on June 4 before taking on Brazil, in Orlando, Florida on June 8. Grenadye Alaso!
