Donald Trump, Mia Love ticket adds up

ORLANDO, Florida, USA (sentinel.ht) – The Donald Trump campaign will likely be taking a serious look at Congresswoman Mia Love for his choice of a running mate for the general election. Getting past the shock and awe that Trump breathes and gets from choosing the first black female Republican elected to Congress, there are some concrete factors that would make a Trump-Love ticket unstoppable.

Allison Isaacson wrote a very insightful article in Elite Daily where she listed how having Love as a running mate would make Donald Trump likable, neutralizing his negatives. She writes of the unpopular traits attributed to Trump that are balanced by Love:

Elitism: From birth, Trump was afforded more opportunities than the average person. His father was a successful real estate developer. Mia Love, on the other hand, is the youngest of three children and daughter of Haitian immigrants who came to America with $10 between them and knew no English.

Sexism: Trump has been labeled a misogynist, Love is a woman, and a strong one at that.

Racism: Trump is accused of being racist, probably undeserved but for his lack of tact and political correctness, but Mia Love is black, African and Haitian-American.

Anti-Immigration: Trumps infamous comments about Mexicans can be helped by having a so called “anchor baby”, as Issacson puts it, on the ticket.

Age and experience are also mentioned in Isaacson piece and Love’s youth and success and effectiveness as a public servant in Utah helps in that regard.

When it comes to conservative consistency, Mia Love is what Republicans can call a true conservative. She is far-right and is not shy about it.

The one point I would add to Isaacson’s is that Mia Love could possibly bring attention to Haiti, where the Clintons have the most darkest of their past. For a place where Bill and Hillary spent their honeymoon, concentrated their efforts for decades, made billions for their friends and PAC supporters, it is one subject they and the Democrats go to great lengths to ignore.

A Trump-Love ticket seems more than just a far-fetched idea, something to shock and awe, but does seem more and more, after serious consideration, a great pick.
