PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) – More than $10 million [US] loaned to the banana plantation of PHTK Candidate for President Jovenel Moïse may not be recuperated because his company, Agritrans, has declared bankruptcy according to Deputy Antoine Rodon Bien-Aimé.

Deputy Bien-Aimé, who chairs the House Finance Committee, spoke after a meeting with the Minister of Finance and Economy, Yves Romain Bastien. The deputy who ran under the same banner as Moïse, Parti Haitien Tet Kale (PHTK), criticized the financial management of the Martelly-Paul administration which has left the country in bleak financial straits.

Bien-Aimé mentioned a number of management “errors”, as he characterized them, including the monies granted and loaned to Jovenel Moïse through the Industrial Development Fund (IDF). The deputy for Cerca-Carvajal also spoke of the tens of millions distributed in whole to a project in La Gonave which since has not begun to be realized.

The Martelly administration gave Jovenel Moïse, who would come to run for its party, upwards $27 million [US] in money and in a thousand acres of land for the Agritrans business. It deserves to be noted that since the elections, Bien-Aimé has left the PHTK party and endorsed Jude Celestin of LAPEH for president.
