PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) – The Privert administration and the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN) held an extraordinary meeting Monday following the attack on the departmental police station in Aux Cayes earlier that morning.
President Jocelerme Privert took part in the meeting of the body presided by the Prime Minister, Enex Jean-Charles, Minister of Justices and Security and the Interior, and the Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH).
The Privert-Jean-Charles administration condemned, “in the strongest terms”, the acts against public order and police formals and extended resources for the pursuit and prosecution of the authors of the attacks.
Only one arrest has been made and that was at the scene of the attacks in Aux Cayes. The badly beaten attacker had cited the candidate for senate of Grand’Anse, Guy Philippe, as the author of the terrorist assault, saying he participated in a meeting with Philippe on the eve.
