PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) – Political parties and actors who make up the Patriotic Resistance coalition noted the act of 80% of Haitian citizens who refused to participate in the “electoral masquerade” of October 25, 2015. For members of the growing movement, only the establishment of a transitional government can lead to good elections in the country.
One of the coalition leaders, Lawyer and President Candidate, Michel André, announced a general mobilization for the week of November 1, 2015, during a press conference Thursday. The aim of the mobilization is for the departure of the Martelly-Paul government and members of Pierre Louis Opont’s Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) .
Despite the good rating awarded by several national and international organizations regarding the sharp decline of violence on October 25, as opposed to the August 9, 2015, first round, members of the Resistance said they believed it was a “clever maneuver of correcting the glaring irregularities of August 9, 2015 to replace them with more subtle and less coarse mechanisms, which has managed to, but very briefly, deceive democrats.”
“The parties, party groupings and personalities of the Patriotic Resistance, find that some of the protests and recriminations of others only confirm their prediction on the impossibility of achieving good elections with the Provisional Electoral Council and the government” said the president of the Social Democrats Fusion Mrs. Edmonde Supplice Beauzile, who read a joint note on the position of the space on the conduct of the 25 October.
According to André Michel, 80% of the population have shunned the elections on October 25 and 20% who made the trip are, mostly, agents and close observers of power. Michel denounced massive fraud of those in power to promote the protection of President Michel Martelly, Jovenel Moses.
The resistance area invited the public and some candidates who participated in the elections to join in their general mobilization movement, from next week, to get the departure from power in place, the members of the CEP and credible organization in the country through a transition of power.
