GRANDE RIVIERE DU NORD, Haiti (sentinel.ht) – Police arrested the Secretary of the Communal Electoral Bureau (BEC) of Grande Riviere du Nord on Sunday in connection with election violence.

According to information received by Vant Bef Info, the well known secretary, “Enel”, was tearing up observation certificates (mandats) granted to observers of opposing political parties.

On social networks, it is being said that Enel is a member of the ruling party’s, Parti Haitien Tèt Kale (PHTK). Party observers not aligned with PHTK, or its allies, Bouclier, KID, or AAA, were victims.

During the August 9, 2015 elections, the same political parties were said to have committed the most violence on that day.
